BlackRock brings BUIDL fund to 5 new blockchains - BlackRock, the world's largest asset management company, has brought its BUIDL fund, which currently lives on Ethereum, to 5 new blockchains. Issued in partnership with tokenization platform Securitize, BUIDL fund is now accessible on the Aptos, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism's OP Mainnet and Polygon networks. "We wanted to develop an ecosystem that was thoughtfully designed to be digital and take advantage of the advantages of tokenization," Securitize CEO and co-founder Carlos Domingo said in a statement. "With these new chains we'll start to see more investors looking to leverage the underlying technology to increase efficiencies on all the things that until now have been hard to do."
Outlier Ventures and Singularity Finance partner to introduce the RWA Base Camp Accelerator - Outlier Ventures and Singularity Finance have partnered to launch the RWA Base Camp Accelerator, an initiative for aiding new businesses in embracing the real-world assets (RWA) space. Startups that get selected for the 12-week accelerator will receive $100,000 in funding and access to guidance from Outlier Ventures on crucial aspects such as regulatory compliance, token design, community-building and engagement strategies, tokenomics, fundraising, pitch refinement, workshops, and more.
Deutsche Bundesbank joins Singapore’s Project Guardian - The Deutsche Bundesbank has become a member of the Project Guardian, an initiative by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to explore real world asset tokenisation. The Bundesbank will participate in various pilot projects to test specific use cases for asset tokenisation, exploring its feasibility and its potential benefits for capital markets, and examining how it can leverage network effects.
Cyprus’ CySEC now accepting crypto licence applications under MiCA - The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) recently announced that it is now accepting Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) licence applications from prospective entities and individuals for preliminary assessment under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), which is scheduled to be implemented on 30th December 2024. “This initiative is designed to ensure a smooth transition to MiCAR which represents a major step forward for the protection of investors in financial markets” said Dr George Theocharides, CySEC Chairman.
Tether launches RWA tokenisation platform Hadron - Tether recently shared it is launching an asset tokenisation platform - Hadron, which will enable the tokenisation of anything. "Tether’s new platform aims to offer a vast variety of asset types starting with vanilla reference products such as fiat-pegged or commodity-backed stablecoins, to more complex solutions such as digital asset collateralized tokens including basket-collateralized products," the company shared in a statement.
