1. Huma Finance Raises $38 million for its RWAs-based payment-financing platform - Huma Finance has raised $38 million in an investment round to fund the development of its payment-financing (PayFi) platform built on tokenized real-world assets (RWA). Out of the total amount, $10 million was made in equity investment and $28 million in yield-bearing RWAs on the San Francisco-based company's platform. Prominent players including Distributed Global, Hashkey Capital, Folius Ventures, Stellar Development Foundation and TIBAS Ventures, the venture arm of İşbank, Turkey's largest private bank participated in the round. Stellar Development Foundation was the largest contributor to the RWA component with its commitment of $10 million.

2. Swift set to test new initiative for streamlining global transactions and tokenised asset transfers - Swift recently unveiled its plans of testing a new initiative designed to streamline global transactions and allow its members to leverage the Swift network for transacting across traditional and upcoming asset types, including tokenised assets and cryptocurrencies. Swift’s multi-ledger Delivery-versus-Payment (DvP) and Payment-versus-Payment (PvP) transactions on its global platform will enable real-time, simultaneous payments and exchanges of tokenized assets on Swift’s network.

3. Plume Network gears to launch tokenised “mineral vault” - Leveraging the demand for high-yielding private assets onchain, Plume Network is preparing to launch a tokenised “mineral vault”, representing tokenised mineral assets. Tokenised mineral interests are a form of real estate that earn real estate royalty revenues from natural resource extraction and sales. The Vault aims to provide “financial exposure to resource production like gold, silver, coal, and primarily crude oil and natural gas” in the United States, shared Chris Yin, Plume Network’s CEO.

4. BBVA announces expansion of services including addition of USDC stablecoin in Switzerland - BBVA has announced the integration of US dollar-backed USDC stablecoin into its cryptocurrency custody and trading services in Switzerland. This new feature will enable BBVA’s institutional and private banking clients in Switzerland, as well as NewGen account holders, to manage USDC funds alongside their traditional investments, thus providing them with faster and more efficient trading options through blockchain technology.

5. Latvia’s central bank offering pre-licensing consultation to crypto companies - Latvia’s central bank has announced that it will offer pre-licensing consultation services to local crypto asset service providers (CASPs) that are looking to obtain MiCA approval. Experts from the bank will provide guidance to companies on the regulations applicable to them and the documents they need to submit for getting a licence. The bank will start accepting applications and issuing licences for CASPs in the country from January 2025.
