Top RWA & MiCA News of the Week

WisdomTree launches new platform to power RWA tokenisation - WisdomTree recently launched the WisdomTree Connect, an RWA tokenisation platform for businesses and institutions. The platform, aimed at complementing the New York-based company’s retail-facing digital app, will offer “complementary digital asset solutions across the entire customer spectrum” as per the company’s official press release. The new platform will enable users to hold WisdomTree tokenized funds in their own digital wallets, which can be self-hosted or kept at a third-party custodian. Investors are allowed to purchase the fund tokens with US dollars or Circle's USDC stablecoin. Initially, the company will mint tokens on the Ethereum blockchain, but it plans to add more blockchains soon.
Clearpool introduces Oxygen, a liquidity layer for its RWA blockchain - Clearpool has announced the launch of Oxygen, a liquidity layer for its RWA blockchain Ozean. Ozean enables the integration of real world assets into DeFi, and Oxygen aims at powering the creation of a unified basket that includes RWAs, tokenized treasuries, liquid crypto assets, and yield-bearing tokens. This basket can serve as a solid liquidity pool for the Ozean ecosystem by supporting essential services such as swaps, lending, and collateralization.
RWA NOVA signs MoU with IX Swap for accelerating RWA tokenisation - RWA NOVA, a blockchain platform for tokenising RWAs, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IX Swap, a licensed and regulated digital asset firm. This collaboration aims at accelerating RWA tokenisation and providing new opportunities to investors globally. “This agreement presents a significant opportunity to expand the scope of real-world asset investments globally through RWA tokenization and to transcend the limitations of the existing financial structures. Through our collaboration with IX Swap, we aim to offer more diverse assets to a broader range of investors, positioning ourselves as an innovative platform driving the activation of the global RWA market,” said a representative of RWA NOVA.
Tokenised RWAs market has surpassed $12 bn as per a Binance report - According to a Binance Research report, the market for tokenised real world assets (RWAs) has surpassed $12 bn excluding stablecoins. Tokenised US treasuries, with products from financial giants such as BlackRock and Franklin Templeton are major contributors to this segment, estimated to be over $2.2 billion presently. The market for stablecoins is a whopping $175 billion, separate from tokenised RWAs.
MiCA Crypto Alliance to team up with DSF for facilitating MiCA compliance - The MiCA Crypto Alliance, which includes Hedera, Ripple and Aptos as founding members, is teaming up with DLT Science Foundation (DSF) to facilitate compliance with the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, whose second phase is planned to be implemented end of this year. “The sustainability disclosure requirements contained within the regulation are designed to drive climate accountability from projects operating within this space and encourage the responsible development of these powerful technologies,” shared Paolo Tasca, founder & chairman of DSF.
