Coinbase-supported Brickken to join European Blockchain Sandbox - Brickken, a Coinbase-supported Web3 platform specialising in launching, managing and distributing digital assets for companies has been selected for participating in the European Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) Regulatory Sandbox. An initiative of the European Commission, the program aims to provide legal clarity for blockchain technologies by inviting public and private institutions to offer advice and best practices. Brickken, along with Coinbase, will share knowledge about tokenisation and blockchain technology with regulators and supervisors.
RWA Tokenisation: Infineo Mints $9 Million of Life Insurance Policies on Provenance Blockchain - Infineo, a company focusing on blockchain-based life insurance policies recently shared that they have tokenised $9.4 million worth of life insurance policies on the Provenance Network, becoming the first company to do so. Infineo is also in the process of developing secondary markets for tokenized policies that enable peer-to-peer transactions and new offerings backed by tokenized life insurances.
Ripple Collaborates with Archax to Bring Tokenised RWAs to XRP Ledger - Ripple has announced a collaboration with Archax, a Web3 project that works with leading financial institutions to aid them in tokenising their financial RWAs. This collaboration is expected to bring millions of dollars of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) onto the XRP Ledger (XRPL) over the coming year.
TradFi Giants Leading New Wave of RWA Tokenisation Using Crypto - As per a post by Kaiko Research, the new wave of crypto-based RWA tokenisation is being led by TradFi giants like JPMorgan, Fidelity and BlackRock. “Last week, Fidelity International announced its participation in JPMorgan’s tokenized network, becoming the latest institutional player to join the rapidly growing tokenization trend. In parallel, BlackRock’s BUIDL, its tokenized liquidity fund, continues to grow and has now accumulated over $460 million,” notes Kaiko Research.
Stablecoins Getting Delisted Shows that Crypto Exchanges are Preparing for MiCA - MiCA implementation is round the corner and crypto exchanges are delisting non-compliant fiat-backed and algorithmic stablecoins to prepare for it. Recently, Uphold informed its European customers that it would delist six stablecoins - DAI, FRAX, GUSD, USDP, TUSD, and USDT from its EEA-based operations. Recently, Binance released a blog post stating that ‘unregulated stablecoins' were going to be excluded from nearly all Binance operations, including trading and custody services, reward programs, margin trading, Binance loans, and cloud mining services.
